(Photo : HTC) HTC has launched the One M9 Plus exclusively in China.
HTC announced the One M9 Plus earlier this week in China with a design similar to the regular One M9 but with a larger display, better specifications and some old returning features from previous One devices.
It's the first device launched solely in China, a new move by CEO and co-founder Cher Wang who took over the company a few months ago. The One M9 Plus will not be available in Europe or North America any time soon.

The One M9 Plus features a 5.2-inch 2K display -- 2560 by 1440 -- a much higher resolution display than the 5-inch 1080p added on the One M9. Internally, it runs on the 2.2 GHz MediaTek Helio X10 processor, 3 GB of RAM and features a larger battery.
HTC has added a range of new features onto the device to interest the Chinese audience, including a fingerprint sensor on the bottom built into a home button. The fingerprint sensor will activate with a press, rather than a swipe.
Previously, the One Max offered a fingerprint sensor on the back but had poor results. HTC has worked to make sure the new fingerprint sensor is more accurate and fast so customers don't deactivate it.
HTC has re-added the Duo Camera on the back of the device featuring a 20 MP and a 4 UltraPixel camera. The duo camera was supposed to offer better photo results but failed to really add anything other than bulk.
Even though the One M9 Plus comes with a heap of features unavailable on the One M9, the question is if any of these features actually worthwhile. The fingerprint sensor might be if HTC has found a partner with accurate and fast sensor technology, which has apparently been swiped by Apple for its own TouchID system.
The duo camera hasn't been shown to be a brilliant solution to mobile photos and the specs might have minimal performance enhancements. Unless the MediaTek processor is somehow better than the Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 featured on the One M9, we don't see a big incentive to choose the One M9 Plus over the One M9.
