Nelly's Scheduled Concert in Missouri State University Cancelled After Drug Arrest

Rapper Nelly, otherwise known as Cornell Iral Haynes Jr, was arrested in Tennessee after the highway patrol pulled over his tour last Saturday.
In the ensuing period of the rapper's arrest, Missouri State University cancelled his scheduled appearance, according to USA Today.
The 'Country Grammar' singer was set to perform on April 23 but the university announced that they would call off the event last Tuesday. There were no specified reasons disclosed.

This cancelled concert sparked mixed reactions among netizens, particularly Missouri State students, who looked forward to seeing Nelly perform in the flesh.
One student shared her sorrow through Twitter by saying that her dreams are now 'ruined' and she now plans to drop out.
While some distraught fans air out their denial that the event was cancelled through social media.
During the rapper's arrest, the patrol found five rocks in his tour bus that tested positive for meth. Drug paraphernalia and handguns were also found within the premises.
The troopers also revealed that the rapper's breath reeked of marijuana upon inspection.
"I feel the need to take responsibility of my choices in needing to be more aware of all the people I associate with and allow unto my property," said Nelly, in an exclusive interview with TMZ.
The rapper emphasized that none of the contrabands found belonged to him.
His legal representative, Scott Rosenblum, divulged in an official statement that Nelly will have no association with the contraband once 'the facts come out'.
The rapper was released on a US$10,000 bond after being held in detention in Putnam County Jail.
Despite the series of events, Nelly stated that his initial instinct was to be easily reached by his friends, family and acquaintances.
The rapper elucidated that he did not want to degrade the respect given by his family, friends and his huge fan base.
