Newbee eSports Club, a Chinese e-sports team, has won the International Dota 2 Championship in Seattle, Washington.
Newbee won over ViCi Gaming, three matches to one, in the best of five championship. It won the US$5 million first-place prize and each team member will take home US$1 million.

The first win of the match went to ViCi but Newbee came back strong and won three consecutive matches to win the prize. ViCi, as the second runner-up, received nearly US$1.5 million.
The International Dota 2 Championship is now in its fourth year. The competition was hosted by Valve Software, DOTA game creator.
DOTA 2 is a multiplayer online battle arena or MOBA in which two teams consisting of five players defend an Ancient from rivals. The first team that successfully demolishes its opponent's Ancient wins.
ESPN network decided for the first time to broadcast the DOTA 2 Championship. It seems that e-sports has caught the sweet attention of The Worldwide Leader in Sports.
The DOTA 2 Championship tournament was available via ESPN3 streaming channel while the finals were aired on ESPN2.
ESPN included highlights of the game, analysis and interviews with players and Valve's Gabe Newell.
This is not the first time that ESPN has been interested with e-sports. In June, ESPN hosted the Call of Duty tournament at the X Games in Austin. It has also partnered with Major League Gaming.
