Lee comes from a privileged background but she made a wholehearted choice to adjust to her husband's simple lifestyle instead. Lee and Lok-Yi dated for four years before deciding to get married.
Lee does her own groceries and cooks meals in time for Lok-Yi to come home from work.
A source reveals that Lee understands her husband's discipline in work ethics as an actor and the determination to live a simple life.
Since it was also Lee's decision to be Lok-Yi's wife, she doesn't miss her previous lifestyle of being pampered at all. Lee doesn't mind living in a 'village house' with Lok-Yi.
Before marriage, Lee was used to other people doing things for her, even the most simple task of washing cups is left for the servants. But now that she is Lok-Yi's wife, she does all the household chores especially preparing the meals for her husband.
"Actually Lok-Yi and Nicole's family have a pretty good relationship," said a close family source, expressing that even Lok-Yi declined his father-in-law's offer to live in one of their properties. The TVB actor insisted to remain in his own home, since it is closer to the studio for work.
Lee joined the Miss Hong Kong pageant in 2007, but failed to earn the prestigious title. However, it became a stepping stone for her to work in TVB as an actress. She briefly left showbiz to manage her father's vast empire of 18 beauty clinics.
Lee's family assets also include properties and private companies that equate up to $500 million HKD.
