LG G4 Announced In New York Sporting Leather Covers

LG has announced its new G4 flagship at a New York event.
LG has announced its latest mobile flagship, the G4, at a New York event earlier today.
It features some of the highest specs money can buy on a mobile device, starting with the 5.5-inch QHD (2560 x 1440) display. LG explained how the Full HD IPS display offers a much richer palette of colors compared to other displays, although IPS traditionally lack the contrast ratios AMOLED panels offer.

Internally, the LG G4 features a hexa-core Snapdragon 808 processor, 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. Qualcomm, the manufacturer of the Snapdragon chipset, said LG adding the Snapdragon 808 was not a snub at the Snapdragon 810 processor, which is meant to be the more powerful of the two processors.
LG has also not dropped microSD storage or removable battery, keeping Android fans happy while Samsung rids the world of both those options. The design of the LG G4 mixes leather or plastic covers, letting customers choose from a range of colors and feels.
The camera has a few big changes, featuring a new 16MP sensor with f/1.8 lens and optical image stabilisation. The front facing camera also features an 8MP sensor, making it one of the best cameras for selfies right behind Acer's 13MP front facing camera on the Liquid X2.
Android 5.1 will come pre-loaded onto the LG G4, the first device to feature Google's newest update. LG has added a wide range of new software features, most of which seem more like bloatware trying to compensate for the lack of first-party services LG provides -- in comparison to Apple and Samsung -- rather than services users will ever use.
This has become a common trend with LG and one we do not really like, since it removes a few gigs of storage with its weird and wacky UX and services. Thankfully it partnered with Google to offer 100GB of Google Drive storage for two years -- at least that is something we might find useful.
Overall the LG G4 is undoubtedly one of the most powerful devices available right now, but we will have to wait and see if this is the best phone of 2015, with other options like the Galaxy S6 winning over millions of customers already.
