Chris Brown was named by the Las Vegas police as a person of interest in a misdemeanor battery case, but the 26-year old singer has been dropped as a suspect after the alleged victim refused to go forward with the charges.
A man went to the authorities and claimed that Chris Brown had assaulted him while they were playing basketball on early Monday at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas.

In a statement provided by the police, the man said that it started with a verbal altercation, which eventually turned violent and the victim was punched by another male, who later on was identified as Chris Brown.
The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department detectives was told by the alleged battered victim that he no longer wants to pursue the criminal charges he filed against "Don't Be Gone Too Long" singer.
As reported by Reuters, the man went to a hospital to get treated and was released that same day.
On the other hand, Chris Brown, who just recently completed his probation for physically assaulting his ex-girlfriend Rihanna, belied the man's claims and said he did not have anything to do with the incident, Nicole Perna, his publicist, explained to CNN in a statement they provided.
The statement continued and said Chris Brown is in Las Vegas as he is scheduled to perform at Drai's, as well as to receive a key to the Strip on Tuesday. He booked a suite at the hotel, which has a basketball court and invited several of his friends to play. Then an uninvited man came and was escorted out for being unruly.
"Chris was not in an altercation with this person," she said.
As a matter of fact, Chris Brown is focusing on the most important part of his life right now-his 11-month old daughter, Royalty.
In an Instagram photo he shared on Monday night, Chris Brown said, "I honestly never knew I could love someone as strong as I do. I'm gonna give her the world."
