Jamie Foxx finally spoke out about his, what many describes as a "disastrous," national anthem performance at the Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao fight this past weekend.

Jamie Foxx's version of "The Star-Spangled Banner," which he belted out before a packed crowd inside the MGM Grand in Las Vegas on Saturday was criticized harshly by millions of viewers watching all over the world.

Some social media users asked what he was singing, while one harsh tweet read, "At least Jamie Foxx prepared us for the forthcoming disappointment."

In a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, the funny man explained why he was off-beat and off-key at times and blamed it on his inner ear packs falling off, which he said made him unable to hear what was playing, so he decided to simply "go on my own."

Inside the arena, Jamie Foxx said he thought he would be "getting a standing ovation." However, someone informed him of the Internet backlash and said, "People are clowning you."

When he finally listened to his performance, he agreed with the critics and admitted that he was off.

Jamie Foxx told Access Hollywood, "Hopefully they understand. It's just the National Anthem."

With the outpour of negative backlash about his performance, how is he dealing with it? The 47-year old "Annie" actor said he was tuning out the negative comments on various social media pages and convincing himself that people simply want an issue to talk about.

In fact, Jamie Foxx remained extremely cool about it and joked that the national anthem will be included in his new album "Hollywood: A Story of a Dozen Roses."

Jamie Foxx was not the only one to be criticized that night as many viewers expressed their disappointment over Floyd Mayweather Jr.'s performance and win over Manny Pacquiao including his own father, Floyd Mayweather Sr. Though his son still emerged as the undefeated boxing champ, he described his performance as just "alright."
