Kim Rae Won's contract with HB Entertainment is nearly over, but recent reports have revealed that the actor is firm on his decision to stay with the agency and is planning to renew his contract with them.

The South Korean actor, who was first thrust into the spotlight for his role in the romantic comedy series "Rooftop Room Cat" and "Love Story in Harvard," signed with HB Entertainment back in 2013. In fact, he credited his successful comeback to HB Entertainment's extremely systematic and efficient way of managing their talents and expressed his gratitude to the agency for making it possible for him to star in the shows "Punch" and "Gangnam 1970."

Kim Rae Won said that HB Entertainment's faith in him has motivated him to do his best and focus on becoming a better actor.

Now a seasoned actor, he revealed that his acting style has also changed. If before he only copies a character, now he tries to become one by emotionally pushing his role to the limit.

All throughout his 19-year-long career, Kim Rae Won's various performances as the antagonist has always been received well by viewers. The main reason why the 34-year old actor always gives a stellar performance when playing dark characters is because he ultimately loves playing the villain.

He shared that being a villain allows him to show his tougher side without having to restrain himself.

As for being type casted into a specific role, he explained that he's trying to be diverse, which is why he'll probably take on a much softer role next time. "My real strength is romantic comedy," Kim added.
