(Photo : Reuters) Rumors about the impending release of an iMac 8K by the technological giant Apple are doing the rounds.
Tech giant Apple recently partnered up with the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) in China, with the goal of maintaining sustainable forest life. Both organizations aimed to decrease China's ecological footprint while producing more natural resources for internal and external use.
Apple wrote a press release on their Web site announcing that this new initiative features a multi-year project with WWF that aims to protect as much as one million acres of "responsibly managed forests which provide fiber for pulp, paper, and wood."

Lisa Jackson, Apple's vice president for environmental initiatives, has this to say: "Forests, like energy, can be renewable resources[...]We believe we can run on naturally renewable resources and ensure that we protect and create as much sustainable working forest as needed to produce the virgin paper in our product packaging."
Apple's ultimate goal is to run most of its global operations entirely using renewable energy. A few weeks ago, the global giant has announced plans to invest in solar farms in China. Apple CEO Tim Cook himself is quite vocal in expressing his dream of embracing environmentally conscious manufacturing techniques. Seeing as China is Apple's second largest market behind the United States, it is no surprise that the corporation should focus most of its green initiative in the region.
WWF China's CEO Lo Sze Ping also shared a few words about their collaboration with Apple. He had this to say about the new initiative: "This collaboration between our two organizations will seek to reduce China's ecological footprint by helping produce more wood from responsibly managed forests within its own borders."
While the new partners admitted that their initiative could not affect change overnight, both are ready and willing to take the road toward eco-friendly gadgets, lively forests, and most importantly, a cleaner environment.
