Apple launched the solar farms because of the allegations brought upon the company. The Institute of Public and Environmental Affairs, based on Beijing, accused Apple's suppliers in 2011 that it adds to the critical pollution which endangered the public's health and safety. China Labor Watch, a watchdog group, regarding the working conditions of factories under Apple about its safety, gave a report.
"Last year we conducted 451 audits deep into our supply chain so we could uncover problems and work with our suppliers to fix them, and we make it a priority to investigate every specific concern brought to our attention," Apple stated.
The industrial growth of China dramatically increased brought different criticisms and those were speculated around Apple and other technology companies with the alleged complicity.
China is vital for Apple since it was China that has the second biggest market by revenue. This where they make and where there resources came from.
Apple going green cleans its state with regards to the allegations. The company aims 100% energy efficiency through powering their manufacturers and worldwide operations. The forest project makes the supply chain retainable too.
In a press release, Apple CEO Tim Cook indicated, "This won't happen overnight, in fact, it will take years but it's important work that has to happen,"
The green project of Apple is a kick off in expanding its industry in China. Apple was able to show their Environmental Responsibility Report for this year. The report highlights the percentage of the allotment on the renewable energy.
