In a recent study, it concluded that Vitamin B could be used to treat certain types of Skin Cancer in people. The trial conducted on 386 people involved, taking an artificial source of Vitamin B3, Nicotinamide, twice daily.

It is said that the average number of instances of cancer in this study was taken as eight with 52 being the highest. The exact figures marked a reduction from 2.42 to 1.77 instances of new cancers. It was then concluded that people who followed this were 23 percent less likely to develop non Melanoma Skin Cancer.

According to reports by NYTimes, pharmaceutical giants Bristol Myers Squibb and AbbVie have also developed an experimental drug called Elotuzumob, for people who have relapsed into multiple myeloma. The company claims that this drug is all set to reduce the development of cancer by almost 30 percent.

However, various pharmaceutical companies have started checking for their stock prices already to counter manage any changes in the stock prices that may happen due to these new drugs. Both studies focused on non melanomic cancer, namely basal cell carcinomas and squamous cell carcinomas, which are the most common forms of cancers in the United States. However, people flock to the use of medicines for the fear of scars left by surgeries.

Experts like Dr. Clara Curiel and Steven Stratoon of the Skin Cancer Institute at the University of Arizona remarked that the patients should consult a doctor before taking these vitamins. Even though vitamins are good for skin cancer patients, and even in general, yet they should not be taken without medical supervision, reports said. The appropiate dosage of the vitamins as per the condition of the patient needs to be decided by the doctor only, for optimal results.

The study is all set to be presented at the Annual Meeting of Oncology Society which is all set to begin in Chicago from May 29.
