Apple Requests New Patent, May Revamp Touch ID Based On Movement Of The Fingers

Apple filed a request on Wednesday with the US Patent and Trademark Office based on the new features included in the home button, which senses finger prints and can scroll based on the finger movement. It is a state of the art feature which brings all features of the phone accessible using a single button without displaying fat digits on the screen.

Moreover, this feature would enable scrolling pages without the discomfort of fingers getting in the way. Reports by the USA Today remark that this Touch ID was equipped on the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus to provide secure means for accessing the locked phone and to also authenticate whilst downloading apps from the Apple Store.

It is said that the 339 page request also includes the use of the home button to lock the device based on the orientation of the finger. It goes on to add that specific provision for attaching certain peripherals like mouse would also be provided. Apart from this, the button provides for a haptic feedback to caution for improper contact whenever a new fingerprint is set up.

According to the Cult Of Mac, the application filed under the Patent US2015/0135108 contains 200 elaborate sketches which provide great detail about the technology wil work.
