The game studio will also release an enhanced edition for free to owners of the original version. The freebie will cover the original versions in Windows PC, Mac and Linux. Although the enhanced version seems more like an upgraded version, the studio is considering it as a "complete new package." The enhanced version will be considered as a new game in the Steam library; however, unfortunately, saved games on the original version are non-transferable to the new edition.

The enhanced version will feature intuitive user interface specifically designed for the controllers and the game will also introduce split-screen for co-operative plays. The dialogs and voices were re-mastered using AAA-actors while new contents that will reportedly last for hours have been added, where new character builds and brand new gameplay will be introduced. The contents also include combat styles, quests, locations and adjustments were made to the crafting system while the storyline has been modified to make life more interesting in Rivellon.

Larian said that the game console and enhanced PC editions will be released at the same time. According to reports, "Divinity: Original Sin's" game inventory system is almost similar to Ultima and this may prove a challenge to console players.

The new co-op mode however, will certainly provide a new way to play this role playing game.
