Thinking that a man is possibly promiscuous by nature of his gender is a myth; however, a new research done by the journal Biology Letters says differently. Studies discover a possible way to foresee a man's inclination towards polygamy. Polygamy is defined as having more than one sexual partner but not really multiple spouses.

Check a man's ring finger - to see if there is a wedding ring on it or examine its length as a really long ring finger is a manifestation that a man chooses to play the field outside the home field. The studies ended that polygamy-inclined and monogamy-inclined profiles is present among men and women.
Refinery 29 reported, to further study how environmental and genes factors affect a person's sex life, the researchers examined the ratio of index-finger length to ring finger-length in 572 Britisih men and 742 British women. The ratio between the digits is an accurate indicator of prenatal testosterone's exposure, the longer the ring finger as compared to the index finger, the more the exposure.
The respondents were tested using the Sociosexual Orientation Inventory, which gauges promiscuity with a spectrum and states whether a person's dating approach is long-term or short-term. At the same time, the association between women's ring finger length and women's mating approach just missed the statistical significance mark; the study did state that men with really long ring fingers are more possibly promiscuous.
The Dailymail stated, the main point of the study is that environment and genetics are much more reliable predictors of a person's dating patterns than gender. Among male whose finger lengths were examined, 62 percent showed a short-term dating method, but 50 percent of women also like short-term dating, which only means that there were a lot of promiscuous people on both sides of the gender row. Those were far-off the social factors influence on how people date.
The study proves that dating style is not related to gender but on genetics and environment.
