'The Iron Giant' May Come Back to Theaters, Says Brad Bird

Even after a decade since its release, "The Iron Giant" remains one of the best animated films in Hollywood. This is the sole reason why rumors about various variants of the movie sparked ever since its fifteenth anniversary last year. The Director, Brad Bird, in tandem with the Warner Bros, also put in faint hints about the impending re-release of the movie.

In an interview with IGN at a press conference for his latest release "The Tomorrowland," Bird commented about his many unsuccessful attempts to bring back the movie. He said that his talks with Warner Bros on this subject have continued for about five years; however, he did not clarify the exact form of this re-release though he hinted at being flexible in that regard, ranging from a full scale studio release to a small 3D release.

Furthermore, in an interview with Collider, Bird also talked about Warner Bros efforts to bring back "The Iron Giants" and adds that Warner Bros wanted to test the waters before going ahead with the plan, which has contributed to this delay. Bird also remarks about his constant motivation to Warner Bros by citing examples of re-releases of "The Wizard of Oz" and "The Blade Runner."

This conversation followed an optimistic note by Bird who says that he has been backing anything and everything that has been done in this regard; however, in spite of this pretty elaborate and animated discussion, Bird did not spill the beans about the exact date of this re-release.

Bird concluded by saying that the whole point of attraction of a movie was being with unknown people to share a dream and that it was not only about the big screen.
