A Chinese company is currently sending more than 12,000 of its employees to a holiday treat in Thailand and will be accommodated and personally catered by a resort, according to Times Of India.

The resort will host a string of banquets to the thousand guests from China, who were rewarded by a direct sales company called Infinitus China for meeting the standard company quota. The travelers consisted of Infinitus China employees, freelance sales staff and their regular customers.

For the record, the group of travelers from Infinitus China was the largest that the resort has ever accommodated.

"It will be a challenge but it's one that we relish," said Chattan Kunjara Na Ayudhya, Public Relations Executive Director of Tourism Authority of Thailand, in an interview with AFP.

Chattan further added that the tourists, approximately 12,700 in number, arrived in Thailand last May 10.  The tourists will be divided into several batches, traveling in groups of 2,000 people consecutively.

The tourists will be treated to a six-day stay in Bangkok and a tour around Pattaya.

The Thailand trip was implemented less than a week after the news came out about a Chinese employer treating 6,000 of the staff to a holiday in Paris. The firm reportedly booked 4,760 rooms in various hotels to accommodate the staff.

Itthiphol Kunplome, Mayor of Pattaya, validated the arrival of the first batch of 3,000 employees in the city.

"We are ready to welcome them and facilitate their activities while they are still in Pattaya," said Kunplome.

A tour guide was assigned to organize 400 coach trips to carry the travelers to their destination. Three hundred travelers will be on hand until the last batch leaves on May 23.

The tour guide stated that the company chose Thailand as its holiday destination because the Chinese were highly impressed with their beaches, temples, cultural performances and fruits.

Thailand's largest source of income comes from tourism, providing 10 percent of the country's GDP. China, on the other hand, sends off a steady stream of tourists into the country.
