Amanda Seyfried Reveals Battle With General Anxiety Disorder

Actress Amanda Seyfried has talks about her problem with anxiety in an interview for the June issue of Vogue Magazine.

The porcelain-skinned beauty who graces its cover, stated in the interview that she is suffering from anxiety. Amanda Seyfried suffers from fears, stage fright, and panic attacks.

The daring star debuted in Tina Fey's 2004's teen movie "Mean Girls" where she played opposite Lindsay Lohan and Rachel McAdams. Before that and as a young teenager, Amanda Seyfried became a model and also appeared in uncredited TV shows.

Amanda Seyfried studied voice lessons and acting and has done numerous appearances from indie to HBO to commercial films including "Gone,"  "Dear John," "Chloe," and "Momma Mia."

Despite her numerous TV and film appearances, Amanda Seyfried, who is currently dating actor Justin Long, reveals that she has problems with anxiety, a debilitating illness. According to her, she has decided to see a psychiatrist to help her manage her fears.

Amanda Seyfried decided to seek medical attention after she appeared on the David Letterman's Late Night Show two years ago to promote "Les Miserables."

Letterman had jokingly asked her, "Have you been drinking?"

She then admitted on air that she had taken a few shots of whiskey just to calm her jitters before getting up for the show. Amanda Seyfried admitted that it was not the kind of image she had wanted to project.

The incident had caused her anxiety to increase and she admits that since then, she has been working out her problem which had haunted her all through her life. 

Amanda Seyfried will be coming out in a new a film, "Ted 2," a comedy sequel of Seth MacFarlane's "Ted" due to show on June 26, this year. Here, the star with big dazzling eyes plays opposite Mark Wahlberg.

The busy actress will also be starring in Neil LaBute's off-Broadway "The Way We Get By" where she plays a woman who gets drunk at a wedding and has sex with someone she just met. This is Amanda Seyfried's first acting foray on stage.
