As if it's not anticipated enough, Walt Disney Pictures is building more momentum for the release of J.J. Abrams' Star Wars: The Force Awakens as it brings all six Star Wars films to China for the first time.
Walt Disney Pictures and the organizers of the 18th Shanghai International Film Festival (SIFF) announced on Monday that the phenomenal saga will be screened at the festival which will run from June 13 to June 21.

"Star Wars is awarded as the greatest sci-fi masterpiece in film history. Movie fans in China will be able to enjoy in cinema then. Before the release of the new episode Star Wars: The Force Awakens at the end of this year, audiences will witness the interspace epic created by the legendary director, George Lucas," said a statement from SIFF.
The film festival is known to attract international movie stars, which means that the cast of Star Wars will possibly make an appearance.
The big screen will show Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace, Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones, Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith, Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope, Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back, and Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi. The first three movies were already shown in China during its initial theatrical release in 1999, 2002, and 2005, respectively.
The last three movies, Episodes IV, V, and VI, will make its debut in domestic cinemas in China.
Star Wars: The Force Awakens, set 30 years after the Return of the Jedi, will be released on December 18 this year in the US, although the release date in China is not yet included in the film's International Movie Database (IMDb) profile. The seventh installment is directed by J.J. Abrams with George Lucas, director of the first four episodes, writing the screenplay.
