Watch out for this Saturday's episode of Korean drama "The Producers." Lee Seung-gi is set to make a guest appearance in episode 6. Seung-gi will be seen sharing scenes with Gong Hyo-jin, who plays the cantankerous senior PD Tak Ye-jin of "Music Bank," and IU, who plays the popular pop diva Cindy on the show.

It is raining guest appearances on "The Producers," and Seung-gi's cameo makes perfect sense, as he was once a permanent member of the reality-variety show "1 Night 2 Days." He starred in the show from November 2007 to February 2012 and was given the nickname Heodang.

The 12-episode KBS drama revolves around a variety show department, and Cha Tae-hyun is playing Ra Joon-mo, the PD of the fictional "1 Night 2 Days" that is doing poorly on the rating front. He has been asked to fire the old cast and revamp the show, with new cast members. Episode 5 saw Cindy joining the show because of her interest in Kim Soo-hyun's character, Baek Seung-chan.

Seung-gi's cameo appearance is reportedly longer than just registering his presence. However, it is not yet clear whether he is playing himself or will be seen playing a character. Filming of his scene is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, May 27.

Meanwhile, the actor-singer, 28, is also set to return to the music scene with a new album after a gap of nearly three years. The album is scheduled to be released on June 4. His last album was "Return," released in 2012.

In recent years, Seung-gi has mainly focused on his acting career. He is also returning to television after his last Korean drama "You're All Surrounded," which debuted on SBS in May 2014.
