As fans of the "Mission: Impossible" franchise gear up for the upcoming blockbuster "Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation," studio execs and producers are readying to keep the hype going by greenlighting the sequel, "Mission: Impossible 6."
Aside from the infallible choice of Tom Cruise reprising his role as Ethan Hunt, there are still zero details as to who will return for the sequel. Geek Tyrant reported that safe bets would be the usual suspects such as Paula Patton, Vhing Rhames, Jeremy Renner, and Simon Pegg, but of course with a production this young, nothing is certain.

However, names of the producers have been popping up left and right. Aside from Tom Cruise, Cinema Blend reported that J.J. Abrams, David Ellison, and Dana Goldberg are all coming back to produce the sequel. Don Granger and Matt Grimm, on the other hand, will serve as executive producers.
Though originally based on a TV series, "Mission: Impossible" blew up to a franchise after the success of the first few sequels. The franchise has been doing incredibly well in local and international box offices, and Slash Film related this to the recurring ensemble cast. Renner, Pegg, and Patton extended a helping hand to Ethan Hunt during "Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol," while Renner and Pegg are returning for "Rogue Nation" as well. In this age of franchises, recurring roles in movies allow fans to follow a continuity that establishes a good following.
In this latest installment, the team is out to get an organization called "The Syndicate," who is out to get the IMF. The trailer alone gives fans enough heart-pumping and adrenaline-inducing action to want to catch the flick on the big screen.
Fans may have to wait until "Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation" hits the big screens on July 31 to find out which characters are returning before speculating on their own which of their favorites will get face time for the sixth installment. For now, the world will have to wait to see if Ethan Hunt survives the death-defying stunts on the fifth installment.
