IGN previously reported that "Silent Hills" is being shipped in the Xbox One console due to a tip from an anonymous source named "Rooster Teeth," while YouTube channel "The Know" further claimed that Microsoft is paying billions of dollars just to get its rights from Konami.

Gaming fans around the world wanted to believe the rumor, but at the same time they were skeptic about it. Fans were desperate to see "Silent Hills" back on track as they began a petition to bring back the game, and it reached over 50,000 signatures. Rumor has it that the game is 80 percent complete before Konami shut it down, Gamerant reported.

If the rumors became true, Microsoft plans to uveil "Silent Hills" at the Electronic Entertainment Expo 2015 this month. It is also reported that "Pacific Rim" director Guillermo del Toro is among the people who have signed the petition to bring "Silent Hills back in production, and he voiced out his ideas about game in an interview with IGN.

Del Toro told IGN that he wanted to put a "cutting-edge" feel within the game, creating all sorts of terror in their houses though he did not want to spoil the "intense" nature of it.

Konami recently made an apology to their fans regarding the future development of several games like "Silent Hills," "Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain," and "Mobile First" and the Japanese game company further adds that they will still continue to make new games in consoles despite of focusing more on mobile games.
