It is well known that Sir Paul McCartney used to smoke some serious pot during his high times (pun intended), but until recently, the Beatles member is ready to call it quits with the much-criticized plant and is ready to focus on something the world did not expect: headstands.

The former Beatles member has mentioned that he wants to set a good example to his growing brood of children and grandchildren and how he does not want to set a bad example for them. E! Online reported that instead of going through a joint, the singer would rather have a nice margarita or even a glass of red wine.

There was a time during the Beatles era that he confessed that he was just some kid from London trying to enjoy what life offered him, and with his kids being so young, New York Daily News shared that he just tried to hide it from them. Now weed-free, he tries to live a very healthy life, not just in what he ingests but on how he takes care of his body.

In fact, at the age of 72, McCartney is looking pretty steady and strong. When asked by the Daily Mirror as to how he keeps nimble and fit, the "Ebony and Ivory" singer demonstrated a headstand, even joking that he does this in the gym for fun. After holding the position for five minutes, all the big guys at the gym would be impressed by his simple act of strength.

Aside from headstands, McCartney also does cardio, some running, cross-training, a little weights, and abdominal exercises on the Swiss ball and then cools down with some stretches on the mat. He did confess that he is not that big on the weights, but if a man can balance himself on his head for five minutes, who needs weights?

McCartney and his former Beatles bandmates have all been well-known users of illegal substances, which are said to have critical effect on the success of the band. However, the 21-time Grammy winner knows better now, and hopefully his kids and grandkids follow his changed self.
