'SOMA' Release Date Set On September 2015 For PS4, PC; Official Trailer For New Sci-Fi Horror Game Streamed Online [VIDEO]

According to GearNuke, "SOMA's" game developer Frictional Games has confirmed that the game will launch on Sept. 22, 2015 for the PlayStation 4 console and for the PC. Sadly, Xbox users will be disappointed to know that there is no release date yet for "SOMA" for the Xbox One. Frictional Games did not make any statement regarding the game being ported to the Microsoft game console.

Aside from the release date, Techno Buffalo reported that Frictional Games started streaming "SOMA's" official trailer. The video contains a 12-minute first look of the game, and its eerie graphics and unpredictable gameplay could make anyone feel scared and uneasy just by watching it.


In the trailer, players will assume the role of an unnamed character who is exploring an abandoned underwater facility. The protagonist eventually noticed that something is very wrong within the facility and tries to contact any outside parties just to know what is going on.

Players will experience spine-chilling atmospheres and dark eerie corridors as they explore the abandoned facility. The protagonist eventually makes it to a assemble room were in he meets Carl Semken, a robot who acts and thinks like a human being. The protagonist soon discovers that Carl's body is already been dead, and is disturb by it.

Throughout the coarse of the video, the protagonist learns that the facility is doing unethical and inhumane experiments on people using robots.The robots eventually develop several instincts similar to a human being, and tend to act violently towards anyone.

The protagonist eventually encountered one of them, and chases him around the corridor. He ends up in a room cornered as the robot begins charging in for the kill, ending the trailer.

Frictional Games has been responsible with several video games such as the "Penumbra" game series and "Amnesia: The Dark Decent."

The Sixth Axis.com commented that "SOMA's" trailer is a mixed variety of "BioShock" and "Alien: Isolation" video games.

Video game fanatics will look forward to playing "SOMA" on their PS4 and PC platforms on Sept. very soon.
