It's funny what a little "tap on the shoulder" from a teammate can do for someone like Kevin Love.

In a strange report from Fox Sports' Brett Smiley, an unnamed teammate of Love allegedly tapped his shoulder without thinking during the presentation of the Eastern Conference championship trophy to the Cleveland Cavaliers on Wednesday last week, after the team swept the Atlanta Hawks to enter the NBA Finals.

And you know what happened next? A sharp "shooting pain" was sent through Love's whole body causing his knees to buckle. Now that's not funny.

The article recounted that upon walking on the court to join his guys for the celebration, the sling-fitted Love gave this still anonymous teammate a "big hug" and congratulated him for the good game. Then, all of the sudden, the teammate carelessly slapped the All-Star power forward's injured shoulder, prompting Cavaliers' staff around him to check on him and ask if he's okay.

Talking to reporters afterward, Love admits that the slap was painful, but he just smiled for the cameras just so to not make a scene. Fortunately, the tap was not strong enough to make his injury worse, but even so, he is said to be truly surprised, and jolted, by what happened, as per Chicago Sun-Times' Dan Cahill.

Meanwhile, Yahoo Sports' Kelly Dwyer quipped that the awkward incident would not change the 6-foot-10 forward's mind about rejoining the Cavs next season. Actually, he gave the group of media men an almost sure hint that he will not avail of his player option this summer and join the team on the opening night of the 2015-2016 season.

Love's shoulder was dislocated during the fourth game of their first-round playoff series against the Boston Celtics. He got entangled with Boston's Kelly Olynyk while fighting for a rebound. Then as they battle for the loose ball, Olynyk accidentally pulled his shoulder out of its socket, making Love run off the court in pain.

A joke is running around the locker room that it was Cavs guard Matthew Dellavedova who unconsciously slapped Love's shoulder. It was Delly's growing reputation of on-court recklessness and skirmishes that prompted the team to kid about it.

Still, Kevin did not find any of it funny. Reckless, maybe.
