Maybe one of the best feelings in the world for an athlete, aside from winning a championship, is to continue to prove his doubters wrong? That is certainly the case with Middleweight Dan Henderson on Saturday, as he dropped one of his patented "H-Bombs" to level Tim Boetsch in just 28 seconds into their main event bout at UFC Fight Night 68 in New Orleans.

According to MMFighting.Com most of Henderson's colleagues and fellow fighters were expecting a retirement announcement after the bout with the veteran losing five of his last 6. But the 44-year old instead pushed back the hands of time, pushed back his retirement plans, and pushed himself back to the win column, notching his 31st in 44 fights. His win total also includes his 24 victories under the UFC/ PRIDE/ Strikeforce/ WEC, the second most by any fighter under those combined promotional banners, as reported by Yahoo Sports!

Boetsch started the fight with his typical aggression that earned him the moniker, "The Barbarian." He was moving forward and swinging with big punches when he got caught with a thundering straight right at the 18-second mark. Henderson stunned his opponent then followed that up with a left knee to the jaw and a right hand uppercut. Boetsch crumpled and he was swarmed with eight more head strikes on the ground. By the time referee John McCarthy stopped the fight, Boetsch was so out of it, he tried to grab and wrestle the official's leg.

The Barbarian is 10 years younger than Hendo and is ranked No. 13 in the middleweight division. He suffered his ninth career loss in 27 outings.

Talking to UFC color commentator Jon Anik after the fight, Henderson said it was nice to come out and prove that he was not yet done with his illustrious career, one that has spanned 18 years in three divisions. He later revealed at the press conference that would think about retirement in his next two fights or so.

Fox Sports describes Hendo as a scrappy, "swing for the fences" type of fighter. The future UFC Hall of Famer has earned the adoration of fans around the world with his highlight-reel knockouts and epic fights with Michael Bisping, Mauricio "Shogun" Rua, Vitor Belfort, Wanderlei Silva, and the legendary Fedor Emelianenko.
