The brief duration of the leak was enough to send fans into speculation. The report also goes on to give details about the images that were revealed in the leak. Apparently, the image shows a camera in front with another panel that appears to be a controller. Another weird object spotted in this image and is being assumed to be the charger for the device.

One of the major reasons that prompted the fans to make speculations about the leak is the fact that Oculus plans to host a press conference on Thursday, to talk about its upcoming headset. Therefore, it is being assumed that the leaked images could actually be a sneak-peek into what Oculus' headset will look like.

Meanwhile, Oculus founder Palmer Luckey rubbished the rumors by issuing a statement on his Reddit account. He also urged fans to stop the speculations with regard to the accidental leak of images, especially because they had been removed from the website. Luckey also went on to add that the images were an old concept and that the final product would not look anything like this. The images are dated and Luckey could be right; however, the leak surely give fans a rough idea of what they may expect in the upcoming headset.

Another report on Recode points out that the camera-like device being pointed towards the headset which is mounted on a microphone-like-pole could be a tracker. It also shows that the device has a front facing camera and possibly two input options that is expected to increase the convenience of the end user.
