In what could be considered as the next big step in virtual reality technology, Landmark Entertainment Group founder Tony Christopher has embarked upon the ambitious mission of creating China Virtual Reality Zoo by 2017.
While a lot of companies like Oculus and Facebook have aggressively tried to settle themselves in the domain of virtual reality, they are still far from experiencing the thundering applause of success. However, an entertainment company that goes by the name of Landmark Group seemed to have taken a big stride in the virtual reality domain.

According to a report on Washington Post, Tony Christopher, owner of the Landmark Entertainment Group, the company behind some awesome options currently on display in Universal studios, has announced a project to develop a virtual reality zoo in China. Chistopher's company has developed some amazing rides like e Terminator 2 3D and Jurassic Park: The Ride.
On his part, Christopher said that the concept of theme parks was getting outdated as the ideas were more conservative. All this is leading to a gradual slowdown of the business. Therefore, the need to diversify and differ was eminent. It was this need that motivated him to propagate the concept of a digital theme park that will be realized in the form of China's very first virtual reality zoo. As of now, the plans to roll out the 200,000-square-foot digital theme park facilities are restricted to China. While there is still ambiguity about the facilities to be included in this park, one can surely expect a cinema, theatre art gallery and the zoo.
Christopher has also said that he will initiate to work on the project as soon as he secures the funding. The idea of a virtual reality set up will allow people to go a step ahead from what they would experience in a traditional setting. This could include facilities like pressing the button and watching the animal of your choice to swim. Another report on Mashable points out that the set-up will have four hours of virtual reality content. In fact, renowned animal caring organization PETA has also seen the initial presentation of the zoo and seems to like the idea, said reports.
