The Android Auto update is finally showing up in third party car units in order to fix the compatibility issues. The latest Android Auto update is released for fixing these issues in Samsung Galaxy S4 and Samsung Galaxy S5 and is now available to be downloaded as an APK file, from either Sprint, AT&T, or Verizon.

When Android Lollipop was implemented on both of these devices, it prevented Android Auto to run successfully on the system. This made the third party devices worse in both, efficiency and performance, according to The Android Police.

Without this fix, these two Samsung devices were proving to be good for nothing when they were plugged in to the car for GPS or listening to music though it just did not work. Without any error messages or any indication of a problem, the users were pretty confused on how to solve it, as per Locker Dome. Users were clueless as to why the systems were not working in the intended manner.

A number of other devices were also found to be incompatible with Android Auto earlier this year. The LG G3, also a very popular Android phone, was facing the same issue which was recently rectified through a patch fix from Google.

This update might solve the above issue, but there is one more persistent issue which might not get solved with it. Many users reported that the voice command and voice search option in their Android Auto is not working properly. Experts say that it is because of the absence of a necessary security update, which must be done manually. It can be done by going to the Security option in the device. Once there, then the user needs to go to the "Security policy updates" and then click on the "Check for updates" option to see if there is any patch which can be downloaded to solve the persistent issue.
