EXO's Chinese member Lay is set to be featured on a billboard at Times Square in New York, according to reports. He has taken the spot on the billboard over his former group members, Luhan and Kris.
The two left the popular Chinese-Korean idol group last year and have filed a lawsuit against EXO's management agency SM Entertainment, seeking termination of their contracts. There were reports about Lay's departure as well, but he has continued to deny that. He is currently the only Chinese member who is actively participating in EXO group's activities. He is promoting the new repackaged album "Love Me Right" along with other eight members of EXO, exluding Tao whose status as EXO member remains uncertain.

ZUK announced about Lay's selection, and the company's CEO took to Weibo to post a message to congratulate Lay, according to Korea Boo. The billboard is of rotating kind, and 100 faces are reportedly displayed every day on it to promote a company's event.
The company, according to Korea Boo, said that Chinese artist Yang Yang, Chinese music band TF Boys, Luhan, and Wu Yifan (Kris's real name) were also considered. After quitting EXO, Luhan and Kris have taken up solo activities in their home country China, signing on solo deals to star in films and commercials.
According to SM Entertainment, Luhan and Kris continue to be part of EXO, as the court has yet to give its final verdict on their contracts. The management agency has objected to their taking part in any profitable activity, including modeling for an advertisement and shooting for a movie.
Meanwhile, it looks like the exit of Luhan and Kris has not dented the popularity of EXO, and their fan following continues to be intact. Last week, the group was on a winning spree, grabbing the top spots and awards on all the television music shows for the title track "Love Me Right," beating BIGBANG's "Bang Bang Bang."
EXO added four new songs to their second album "EXODUS" and released the repackaged album "Love Me Right" on June 3. Lay and other EXO members have been performing at concerts in Taiwan and Thailand to promote the album.
