The latest Sony PS4 update is all set to give the gamers a brand new playing experience as the makers have announced that come July, they will launch the new model of PlayStation 4 which will have double the storage capacity.
According to CNET, Sony has confirmed that it will be launching the all new version of the PlayStation 4 that will have one terabyte storage capacity, early next month. Amazingly, the new console is being launched on the lines of Microsoft Xbox One that is arriving this month. The new 1TB PS4 is being called the Ultimate Player Edition.

The blogpost published by the company said that the new version of the PlayStation will be released in selected European countries as well as PAL territories on July 15, 2015. Since PAL is the standard video game format used across the globe (except North America and South America), releasing the new model in the PAL territories will help in testing the response towards the update. As of now, there is no clarification on when the gaming consoles are expected to arrive in the non-PAL territories.
The Microsoft Xbox One is launching its 1TB edition in June itself. With digital and disc-based games becoming larger, the extra storage capacity is a boon for avid gamers. It gives them a chance to accommodate a bigger collection. Sony unveiled the new model at the Electronics Entertainment Expo while Microsoft had launched its updated storage version before the event.
Additionally, Sony also had several announcements to make at the E3. According to Engadget, the company has confirmed that they have made minor changes in the design of the 500 GB model that will make the console lighter and easier to handle.
The new model will be launched in Japan initially, followed by other Asian countries and America as well. The new version will no longer have the glossy top as it is replaced by a classier matte finish. Even the PlayStation app for iOS has been updated. The first change in this app is that it will make it easier for users to avail the PSN gift cards as well as promotional codes.
