(Photo : Reuters) Windows 10 promises to be more user-friendly than ever with seven new editions, fit for every gadget.
Microsoft made an announcement on June 20 that it will be giving out Windows 10 to anyone who is willing to test the operating system.
In order to test the operating system, the user must install the latest build from Insider Program first and sign on to their Microsoft Accounts.

But now it seems that the statement is not entirely true for everyone, as people who are using genuine versions of Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 can only upgrade their operating systems to Windows 10 free of cost within the first year of its release, as per The Verge.
The discrepancy with the earlier announcement is that it originally implied that any user can install Windows 10 and test it. But the users who are using Windows XP and Windows Vista are not in the running now. These users first need to upgrade their operating system to the latest version of Windows and only then will they be able to get their hands on the latest version of Windows.
The users who are planning to go ahead with the gig of testing the latest operating system from Microsoft will need to connect their Microsoft Exchange Account with their PC or Laptop. If they fail to do so with the build version 10130, they will not receive any further updates from Insider Preview Builds either. In addition to that, they will get a persistent notification in the form of a reminder, urging them to connect their MSA with their system.
The availability of Windows 10 is a little ambiguous since the announcement of its launch. Microsoft initially announced that even the pirated software can be upgraded to Windows 10 and users can test it, which is of course not true now. The operating system will be officially available for use on July 29, 2015 in 190 countries and users can enjoy a free upgrade for an entire year.
It is also expected that Microsoft may launch its much-anticipated Microsoft Surface Pro 4, along with Windows 10 on July 29, 2015. The new "laplet" will offer stiff competition to the upcoming iPad Pro and other devices.
