All indications point toward the highly anticipated middleweight championship fight between current WBC, Lineal, and The Ring Middleweight title holder Miguel Cotto and Mexico's Saúl "El Canelo" Álvarez to happen this November.
According to SkySports, the Puerto Rican champion's adviser, Gabriel Peñagarícano, recently said that the HBO pay-per-view clash is most likely to push through entering the winter, with November 21 as the possible date.

Peñagarícano told reporters that the venue is also still indefinite and the final announcement could be made within this month. "The date will be linked to the place. As I said before New York and Las Vegas are viable. This is a big business. We should not dismiss Dallas. We have to see what they have (to offer)," he said.
Meanwhile, Golden Boy Promotions CEO Oscar De La Hoya also confirmed the fight, via Boxing Junkie.
"We're finalizing minor details," De La Hoya said. "We have Las Vegas, which is very interested. We're talking to Texas and New York, also, so it's a matter of time."
The 24-year-old Alvarez (45-1-1, 32 KOs) is a natural light middleweight and would be forced to move up in order to have a chance to face one of the legends in the sport in the 34-year-old Cotto (40-4, 33 KOs).
Boxing News 24 reported that Top Rank chief Bob Arum remarked that Cotto has the upper hand in the fight mainly because of his new trainer Freddie Roach, who is also a legend on his own.
Arum said that Manny Pacquiao's coach is known for devising ingenious game plans for the Filipino icon and he will do the same for the Puerto Rican. Alvarez has not faced any combination of Cotto and Roach's caliber since suffering the first loss of his career against Floyd Mayweather Jr. and his father, and so Canelo is really in danger of losing again.
However, Arum still thinks that Alvarez would survive the fight and win because he is "the fresher guy," unlike Cotto who had been through a lot of battles already and might be "on the downside of his career."
Cotto is promoted by Jay Z's Roc Nation Sports while Canelo is with De La Hoya's Golden Boy Promotions.
