Anderson Silva Advises Paul George to ‘Stay Calm and Strong’

If there's someone who knows what Paul George is going through, it has got to be Anderson Silva.
The former Ultimate Fighting Champion (UFC) middleweight champion sent his regards to the injured Indiana Pacers forward via Instagram, telling him to be "calm and strong" as he goes through recovery.

"I had the same injury champ, I know what you are going t(h)rough right now, but just stay calm and strong, you'll be back soon," Silva captioned a picture of George which he posted on his social media account.
George broke his right leg as he raced down the court, chasing James Harden on a fastbreak play. He crashed into a backboard stanchion, with the injury so gruesome that officials called off the Team USA scrimmage in the fourth quarter.
Silva, 39, suffered the similar injury on his left leg during his title fight against Chris Weidman in December last year. The Brazilian swung his leg, but the American caught it with a leg check which resulted to Silva breaking his tibia and fibula.
He underwent immediate orthopedic surgery where doctors inserted a titanium rod on his left leg.
Silva said he has been doing physical therapy to speed up the healing process on his injured leg. He felt that his legs will be 100 percent when he steps back into the ring.
"I've been doing a lot of physical therapy," said Silva. "It's at 95 percent and improving."
Silva's main priority right now is to walk and move his legs. Although he admits that he is not "kicking" like what he used to do before suffering the injury, he will have to wait until the actual fight when he comes back into the octagon.
Despite being the No. 1 contender for the middleweight belt, Silva doesn't mind taking on a nontitle fight in his UFC comeback.
Silva (33-6) will headline UFC 183 in Las Vegas against former World Extreme Cagefighting (WEC) Welterweight champion Nick Diaz on January 31, 2015.
Diaz (26-9) retired after losing the UFC Welterweight championship in a unanimous decision against Georges St-Pierre last year but announced his comeback after signing a three-fight contract with UFC last July 24.
