It has been a roller coaster ride for Lukas Podolski following his decision not to return to Internazionale Milano where he only scored one goal in 17 appearances, but the 30-year old German International may have finally found a home in Turkey as a member of Galatasaray, according to Sky Sports.

Podolski is set to join Galatasaray for a reported fee of £1.8 million, giving him a chance to prove his worth after dreadful seasons with the Gunners and Internazionale Milano.

His forgetful stint with the Italian ball club and his uncertainty of his stay at Emirates allowed Podolski to evaluate the situation and make a decision that would be best for his career.

Podolski's move to Galatasaray has been officially hammered this weekend as the German signed a three-year deal with an option for the fourth year. He will reportedly pocket a salary that could increase up to £10 million, while the Turkish Super Lig champions will only pay Arsenal just under £1.8 million up front and then £2.1m per season for three years thereafter. Arsenal will also get £357,000 from Galatasaray, if the Turkish team qualifies for the Champions League during his contract.

Although Arsenal FC manager Arsene Wenger wanted to keep him on the club the log-jam of strikers forced the Gunners executive to pull off a transfer move with Galatasary, knowing that the German will have a chance to have a regular playing time and show what his capable of to play on the field.

"We had good talks with Wenger," Podoslki's agent Nassim Touihri said in an interview via the Guardian. "He wanted to keep Lukas at Arsenal but could not guarantee him a starting position. That's why we agreed to make a transfer."

Due to his lack of football with the North London club, Podolski also lost his place on his national team starting position. He was once one of the first players on Joachim Loew's list, however during the 2014 FIFA World Cup where his German squad clinched the title, he was left out on the bench almost throughout the tournament, playing few minutes on the group stage games against USA and Portugal.
