INNOPROM, Russia's largest industry fair, is currently running for four days from July 8 to 11. The theme of the sixth edition of this industrial fair is Industrial Efficiency. It includes five special themes: mechanical engineering, industrial automation, energy efficiency, optics and lasers, and metropolitan technologies.
During the opening ceremony of the fair on Tuesday, Vice Premier Wang Yang acknowledged the socio-economic challenges being faced by several countries due to global financial crisis and highlighted the emergence of a scientific, technological, and industrial revolution.
"In order to keep pace with the changing economic landscape of China, it is important to innovate. Thus Made in China 2025 aims at enhancing country's manufacturing capacity by technology, knowledge-based transformation and green development," Yang said.
Being each other's largest neighbors and strategic partners, China and Russia have an important role to play in their partnership.
Both countries are working towards redefining innovation in science and technology by exploring China's strong industrial and capital foothold in the market and Russia's expertise in technology and talent.
The Sino-Russian strategic partnership is steadily improving and has shown great potential in investment, energy and hi-tech innovation. Currently, Russia is working with China to develop an energy import strategy in northeastern China.
Dmitry Rogozin, Russia's Deputy Prime Minister, said "The presence of China as the Guest of Honour in the INNOPORM indicates that the economic and trade cooperation between the two countries has advanced to a new level."
He encouraged business representatives of both nations to exchange ideas and cooperate during the four-day event.
China's exhibition in the INNOPROM covers 7,500 square meters. It includes high-speed rails, aerospace, aviation, ships, electric power, automobiles, electronics, machinery, nuclear energy, and satellite navigation.
