Ji Hyo signed on an exclusive contract with C-JeS Entertainment in July, 2011, becoming the first female actress to do so.  Now after four years, the actress has decided to part ways. Soompi quoted C-Jes Entertainment's rep. as saying, "After four years of being Song Ji Hyo's management, we will no longer be working with her."

Meanwhile, the news about Ji Hyo dating her management agency's boss first surfaced in January 2012. Soon after, C-Jes Entertainment had confirmed the reports about their dating, saying that their relationship was still in the early stages. They, however, had declined to comment how they started dating, calling it a private, personal matter.

This is the first time that the agency is confirming the reports on Ji Hyo and Chang Joo's break up. In addition to information about Ji Hyo's exit from the management agency, the rep. said that their CEO and the actress ended their relationship two years ago, adding, it did not affect the actor-manager relationship.

"We will cheer on Song Ji Hyo, who has been earning much popularity in Asia, to continue earning a lot of love through various promotions in the future," the rep. said, adding that they will "fully cooperate" with the actress until she signs a new agency's contract.

Ji Hyo recently starred in tvN's romantic comedy "Ex-Girlfriend Couple" opposite "Misaeng" actor Byun Yo Han. Originally green lit for 16 episodes, this drama wrapped up in 12 episodes because of poor ratings.

The actress also has starred in "Emergency Couple" (2014), "Princess Hour" (2006) and more dramas.  Ji Hyo won critics' praise for her performance as a Queen in the critically acclaimed Korean movie "A Frozen Flower."

Ji Hyo, however, owes her popularity to "Running Man." After appearing as a guest in three episodes, Ji Hyo was soon roped in as a permanent cast member. In addition to her home country, she has gained immense popularity in China as well because of "Running Man."
