"Cheese in the Trap" is the highly anticipated drama adaptation of the popular Korean webtoon of the same name. Park Hae Jin, who has previously starred in "My Love From the Stars" and "Bad Guy," is headlining the drama, playing the male protagonist, Yoo Jung. Now there are reports that miss A's Suzy, 20, is set to star opposite him.

JYP Entertainment, the management agency of Suzy, has confirmed that she has received an offer to play the female lead protagonist, Hong Seol. Dramabeans reported that production house has confirmed that they have sent the script to Suzy, but they have not yet cast her. The report quoted the production house as saying, "There was no further discussion."  JYP Entertainment said that they are still reviewing the offer, Korea Boo reported.  

Meanwhile, an official related to the show said that they are considering a lot of actresses for the role of Hong Seol, including Suzy, according to Korea Boo. There is a lot of interest to know who will play the female protagonist in "Cheese in the Trap," the official said, adding, "Not only is Suzy being considered, several other actresses are being considered for the role as well."

Netizens have reacted negatively to the news. According to them, the role demands that the actress playing it shows a wide range of emotions, and Suzy is not capable of doing that. Korea Boo quoted a poster as saying that Suzy does not match Hong Seol, while another poster commented that the character has "very detailed very detailed emotions ... please use someone good at acting."

Suzy, who is dating popular Korean actor Lee Min Ho, has earlier starred in "Dream High" (2011), "Big "(2013), "Gu Family Book" (2013), and more Korean dramas. She also had a one-episode cameo role in "My Love From the Stars."    

"Cheese in the Trap" is set to air later this year on tvN. The webtoon has been created and illustrated by Soonkki, and the first strip was released in 2010.  Set in a university, the series chronicles the love story between mysterious Yoo Jung and thoughtful Hong Seol.
