World's no.1 United States is all set to face no.3 ranked China in an explosive match-up expected to go the distance on Saturday in the Hong Kong Leg of FIVB World Volleyball Grand Prix.
Both undefeated after two weeks of preliminary competitions, the United States and China will use their upcoming clash to evaluate what level of play they are at right now before the Group 1 finals in Omaha next week.

The United States were already assured of a spot in the final round since they will serve as the event's host, but American head coach Karch Kiraly stressed they won't leave no stones unturned during training, knowing the level of competition will be this weekend.
As to playing China for the fifth time in roughly a month, Kiraly believes neither team has a significant advantage over the other after engaging through tightly contested matches. The American tactician also pointed out the benefits of facing top-caliber teams like China at this point of the season.
"I don't think anybody really has an advantage. Even though we beat them at the world championships, we were very, very close. [China] is a great team. It is young and getting better so we will try hard and compete hard," Kiraly told reporters via South China Morning Post.
"It is always good to play a tough team. It was like Brazil last year and Japan the year before, we also played them four times. It makes it fun because both teams know each other better than the rest of the teams. I think it can add more competitiveness to the match," said Kiraly, who is looking to guide the United States to FIVB Grand Prix championship for the first time since 2012.
Before the clash of the titans on Saturday, the United States will take on Japan on July 16 and Thailand on July 17, while China plays Thailand on July 16 and Japan on July 17.
