The Los Angeles Lakers are reportedly not finished with their free-agency efforts yet as the team now targets unrestricted free agent Kevin Seraphin to boost their thin frontline, as reported by Fox Sports.

The 25-year-old Frenchman had played for the Washington Wizards in his whole four-year career. He has career averages of 6.4 points and 3.7 rebounds in almost 17 minutes per night as a backup power forward or center.

Seraphin is considered as one of the most solid big man substitutes in the league today, something which the Lakers sorely lacked in their current roster.

This offseason, the Hollywood franchise has traded for Indiana's Roy Hibbert and acquired former Celtic big man Brandon Bass to add to a frontcourt consisting of hard-luck sophomore pro Julius Randle, Robert Sacre, and Tarik Black.

Seraphin would instantly fit in the team's rotation should the deal pushes through. The 6-foot-10, 278-pound banger had his best season in 2012-2013 when he was used by the Wizards for almost 22 minutes a night, posting averages of 9.1 points and 4.4 rebounds, as per Bleacher Report. He is expected to have the same amount of playing time in Byron Scott's rotation as Randle is reportedly not yet 100 percent recovered and is basically just playing his rookie season this year.

Last year, Randle fractured his right tibia after landing awkwardly on a drive to the basket during the Lakers' season-opening game against the Houston Rockets. He was sidelined for the whole season after going through a surgery immediately the next day.

The former Kentucky Wildcat was allowed by doctors to join full-weight but non-contact basketball activities in March and had played with the team in the recent summer league, although under a minutes' restriction.

NBC Sports' Pro Basketball Talk indicated that Washington wanted to retain Seraphin as the primary backup to center Marcin Gortat, but the French Guiana native is reportedly intending to move his talents somewhere else this coming October.

In addition to the Lakers, other teams that are interested in signing Seraphin are the Dallas Mavericks, Phoenix Suns, and San Antonio Spurs.

Dallas needs a change of pace big man to play behind Zaza Pachulia while the Spurs needed a more traditional substitute in the middle for the aging Tim Duncan. Phoenix is the least likely to pursue Seraphin as the Suns already has Tyson Chandler as their big acquisition this summer.
