Lumia 940, Lumia 940 XL Update: New Lumia 940 and 940 XL Maybe Launched in November?

(Photo : Reuters) Microsoft is said to release the Lumia 940 smartphone at the end of November and this flagship handset will be dubbed as one of the expensive devices to hit the market with $1000 promotional price tag.

This is the first smartphone from Lumia series that will exceed the price of unlocked iPhone 6 that costs around $649. According to the tech experts, the device will feature high-end functionality with extremely powerful hardware specification.

The device will sport 5.2-inch display with 1,440 x 2,560 pixel resolution at 565 ppi, whereas the Note 4's ppi is only at 515 pixels per inch. The display type will be AMOLED with Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection and ClearBlack display.
The hardware segment will be driven by Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor and Dual-Core 1.82 GHz Cortex A-57 & Quad-Core 1.44GHz Cortex A-53 chipset. The GPU segment will be chipped with Adreno 418 assisted by 3GB of RAM. The storage facility will have 32GB internal space but lacks the external storage card slot.
The rear shooter has 20MP camera lens whereas the front shooter is only equipped with 5MP sensor. Camera features includes Carl Zeiss optics, autofocus, Dual-LED flash, optical image stabilization, PureView technology, dual capture, geo-tagging, face detection and panorama.
The power section will have Li-Ion 3,000mAh battery capacity while the device will have a dedicated OneDrive 15GB Cloud storage. The operating system of the phone will be Windows 10 and the device will be available in bright green, bright orange, white gold and black.
Tech enthusiasts are very excited about the phone but some of the experts claimed that the phone is bit overpriced when compared to its specs. Another handset from Microsoft is the Lumia 1030, which has a similar price but with a 50MP rear shooter, iDigital Times reported.
Apple and Samsung has introduced premium metal finishing, and to compete with them, Lumia 940 smartphone will feature upgraded polycarbonate plastic body. The other sibling, Lumia 940 XL, will have 5.7-inch screen size, 1440 x 2560 pixel resolution at 515 pixel per inch density, according to GSM Arena.
Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor will power the device with Quad-Core 1.5GHz Cortex A-53 and Quad Core 2GHz Cortex-A57 chipset. 3GB of RAM unit will assist the GPU Adreno 430 for better gaming experience.
