Former two-time light welterweight champion Amir Khan (31-3, 19 KOs) told fellow British fighter Kell Brook (35-0, 24 KOs) to fight "some top names" first so that they can set up a £100 million classic in the future, as reported by the Mirror.

The current WBC Silver welterweight titlist reportedly rejected the offer of Brook's promoter, Eddie Hearn, worth £4.5 million for him to fight the reigning IBF welterweight champ this year as Khan thinks that their potential mega-bout may be worth almost a hundredfold than that in the future.

"All he has to do is face some top names, like Bradley, Maidana, and Thurman," Khan said. "I proved myself by going in and fighting guys at their peak, but with him, he's not doing that."

Khan had fought and beaten the likes of Marco Antonio Barrera, Paulie Malignaggi, Marcos Maidana, Zab Judah, Julio Diaz, and Luis Collazo but had not fought the best of the best yet.

Khan was craving for a match with pound-for-pound great Floyd Mayweather Jr. for years now but was never given a chance by the unbeaten American. There are also rumors that he will be facing Filipino icon Manny Pacquiao next year in Dubai, as per the Liverpool Echo.

Meanwhile, he criticized Brook's selection of opponents as the main reason why he thinks that the 29-year-old Sheffield native is not yet ready to share the ring with him.

"Instead he's fought Jo Jo Dan and Frankie Gavin in his last two fights. Why not prove himself? The only reason that fight isn't happening is because my team advise me it's not the right time to do it yet and that it could be a bigger fight," he said.

The 28-year-old Bolton native added that only a fight with either Mayweather or Pacquiao will fill-up the Wembley Stadium in London, and not a match with Brook at the moment.

Boxing News 24 noted that Khan may be "dreaming" if he thinks that a future bout with Brook would amount to £100 million. For one, the two would have to fight in Las Vegas to make that kind of money and they would have to develop into perennial pay-per-view draws year after year just like Money and Pac-Man to even come close to such an astounding figure.

As of now, Brook is a virtual unknown in the States while Khan is not yet at PPV level. Both boxers may have to prove themselves with more popular opponents first before they could dream of that £100-million payday.
