Responding policemen in Los Angeles killed an armed male who was firing shots in the air on Saturday. Law enforcers have justified their deadly response saying the man refused to surrender his weapon.
The unidentified man had reportedly discharged his weapon in a crowded street located in San Fernando Valley.

Local authorities said did not immediately approach the body of the shooter after he was gunned down. Instead, they first made sure he was not hiding any explosives or other dangerous items under his clothing. No other weapon was found on the shooter except the pistol which he had been discharging.
A witness described the male shooter as a young adult and heavily bearded. Despite the California heat, he was reportedly wearing a leather jacket.
Real estate salesperson Terry Burstein narrated the male shooter's behavior. She first noticed the young man loitering in the middle of a restaurant and a bank.
The next time she saw him, the man had already shot six rounds in the air. When the gun ran out of bullets, he reportedly loaded a fresh magazine. He then hid his gun and simply sat down as if nothing had happened.
A number of passersby walked past him unaware that he just discharged his weapon. It also seems that they did not know he was hiding a gun in a paper bag. Motorists driving nearby took no notice of the event and virtually ignored the shooter.
After a few minutes, he again discharged several rounds before hiding his weapon. The witness added that he neither appeared agitated not did he point at or shoot any person near him.
Police reportedly deployed a robot to examine the body and remove any suspicious items the gunman may have been hiding. After the robot finished its task, the police went to recover the body.
Local investigators are trying to find out if there are chances that the incident was recorded by nearby CCTV cameras. People who saw the event are also being questioned by the police. Witness recounted that the police may have fired two to three rounds to kill the shooter.
