Good news Marvel fans as new updates and rumors for "Daredevil" season 2 have been revealed regarding a new character joining the show and an appearance in "Captain America: Civil War."

According to Screenrant, a new villain will be making havok in Hell's Kitchen, New York by the name Melvin Potter, a.k.a. The Gladiator (played by Matt Gerald). The news came when the official "Daredevil" TV series' Twitter page posted a photo of one of Melvin's buzzsaw on his table with the caption, "I gotta be good. So I make things. I'm good at making things."

Cinemablend noted that although there is no confirmation yet whether Melvin will go on in the show as his alter-ego, the show itself might explore more of Melvin Potter's history.

Melvin was first introduced in season 1 of "Daredevil" as a tailor and designer of Wilson Fisk's armored suits. Potter works for the Kingpin in making his suits and he disobeys him in any form he will kill his love Betsy Beatty. Matt Murdock eventually fought him and promised to takedown Kingpin. He was responsible for making Matt's Daredevil suit during the show's finale.

In the regular Marvel comics, The Gladiator has no super powers but he is equipped with a thick armor armed with buzzsaws on his wrist. He is a superb martial artist and is physically strong which makes him an intimdating figure.

Several characters have already been hinted for "Daredevil" season 2 such as Elektra, played by "G.I. Joe: Retaliation" star Elodie Young, Bullseye which was once rumored to be played by "Furious 7" actor Jason Statham and the Punisher played by "The Walking Dead" star Jon Bernthal.

Joe Quesada, chief creative officer of Marvel, commented that both Bernthal and Young can embody the roles for both Punisher and Elektra in the series. Quesada adds that Young's martial arts training, facial expressions and actions sees her as the perfect fit to play Elektra and he believes that Bernthal's Frank Castle can complement with Charlie Cox's Matt Murdock in season 2, Franchise Herald noted.

In other news, there have been rumors that both Matt Murdock and Frank Castle are being considered to appear in "Captain America: Civil War."

A previous report from KDramastars claimed that Cox is opened to the idea that Daredevil could appear in "Captain America 3" film, but he is unsure yet if Marvel Studios will go on with the plan.

The website further adds that Cox has been reading "Civil War" comics since, and stated that it will be "very very cool" for him if his character gets invited to the fight.

As for the Punisher, MovieWeb reported that the new Spider-Man Tom Holland has share a photo of him and Bernthal on Instagram, which sparked the speculation that Frank Castle will appear in "Civil War" movie.

Punisher did appear in the "Civil War" comics joining Cap's team, after saving Spidey from Iron Man's registered villain squad. He helped Cap's team gain information on the Negative Zone prison, but was eventually kicked out after killing two villains that wanted to join the team.

IDigital Times reportedly claimed that "Daredevil" season 2 will premiere on Spring 2016.
