An autopsy, planned to identify why Bobbi Kristina was found lying facedown on her tub in January, would help explain the 22-year-old's death. As of Monday, July 26, the Brown autopsy planned is being handled by the Fulton County Medical Examiner's Office of Atlanta, Georgia.

Three years ago, Bobbi Kristina's mother Whitney Houston was found dead lying facedown in a bathtub. Whitney's death resurfaced last January 31 as Bobbi Kristina was also found lying facedown in her own bathtub and without a pulse.

Described in a police report as drowning, the incident had Bobbi Kristina rushed to the hospital and put on life support. Till the day of her death, she has been surviving, but without brain function. Surrounded by her family at the Peachtree Christian Hospice in Duluth, Georgia, Bobbi Kristina died Sunday at the age of 22.

The medical examiner announced Monday that an initial autopsy was found inconclusive in determining the underlying cause behind the death of Bobbi Kristina Brown.

"The autopsy does not show an obvious underlying cause of death and no significant injuries were noted. No previously unknown medical conditions that could have contributed to death were identified."

The autopsy would begin after several weeks since a ruling indicated that a long hospital stay meant a lot of medical records needed to go through. The agency has demanded lab tests and subpoenas were issued for documents significant to the cause and manner of death of Bobbi Kristina.

Nick Gordon, 25, who has been the live-in partner of Bobbi Kristina, is among the people being investigated by police involving her death. Also under close scrutiny by authorities is ex-boyfriend Max Lomas, who found Bobbi Kristina unconscious in her bathtub.

Bobbi Kristina is the only child of divorced parents Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown. Gordon is an orphan Whitney adopted. Being Whitney's only child, Bobbi Kristina has become the sole heir of the singer's estate, the size of which is being held secret, according to ABC News.

After Houston's demise three years ago, Bobbi Kristina was left with a $20 million inheritance. However, it was kept in a spendthrift trust in order to keep predators and creditors from being able to exercise undue influence over Whitney's daughter, according to The Inquisitr.

An autopsy of Brown's body would hopefully realize if Gordon had any involvement in her death. At 18, four years ago, Bobbi Kristina publicized her romance with Gordon. By January 2014, the young couple who grew up as siblings, were reported to be living in together and calling themselves husband and wife, reported the Associated Press.

On June 24, Bobbi Kristina's court-appointed representative accused Gordon of assault, battery, inflicting emotional distress, unjust enrichment and conversion, according to MSN. The complaint was reportedly part of a lawsuit against Gordon who allegedly became violent against the 22-year-old and who has stolen $11,000 from her account while in a medically induced coma

Fulton County District Attorney Paul Howard is still reviewing the investigative file against Gordon to determine whether any further charges will be filed.
