The New York Knicks' reported deal with former Los Angeles Lakers sharp-shooter Sasha Vujacic has not only suggested Phil Jackson's willingness to gamble on a journeyman with championship pedigree, it has also opened the window for an Andrew Bynum comeback next season.

In the wake of Vujacic's signing to a one-year deal, many Knicks fans and pundits alike are speculating Jackson's next move. After rolling the dice on Kristaps Porzingis (no.4 overall pick) and betting on free-agents Arron Afflalo, Robin Lopez and Derrick Williams, Jackson came through another gamble by signing Vujacic, who has been in and out of the league the past four years.

Vujacic won back-to-back championships under Jackson and Derek Fisher during their time in Los Angeles. After a stint with the New Jersey Nets, the Slovenian spent the last two seasons in Europe before landing a 10-day deal with the Los Angeles Clippers during the 2013-14 seasons. He played just two games with the Clippers before he was released.

Despite the up-and-down trend in Vujacic's career, the Knicks are willing to give him another chance to prove his worth in the NBA. NBA insider Stefan Bondy of the New York Daily News said he was told by Vujacic's agent, Herb Rudoy, that the Knicks signed his client to a fully guaranteed deal.

Afflalo are projected to start at shooting guard for the Knicks next season, but Vujacic will be competing for minutes as a backup. Also known as the Machine, the 27th overall pick in the 2004 draft is a career 37 percent shooter from beyond the arc and 87 percent from the charity stripe.

Vujacic's signing has triggered rumors over the weekend on the possibility of bringing in yet another ex-Laker in former All-Star big man Andrew Bynum.

Bynum skipped the 2014-15 NBA season to address his chronic knee problem, though he's expected to make a comeback this coming season, according to his agent David Lee. The Knicks have been mentioned as potential landing spot for Bynum in case he decides to resume his NBA career largely because of his association with Jackson and Fisher.
