World no. 18 John Isner is through to his fifth BB&T Atlanta Open final after defeating qualifier and hitting partner Denis Kudla with the score of 4-6 6-2 7-5. The defending champion fought from being down 30-0 in the third set and converted three break points out of nine chances to take the match in an hour and 43 minutes.

Isner, known for his powerful serve, won 78% of his service points and ended the match with 25 aces.
"I was hitting them bigger, which is a good sign," Isner spoke of his weapon. "I got stronger and stronger as that match went on. I was feeling not so great in the first set, winded."
Indeed, the first set was tough for the top seed but he eventually found his groove and became more aggressive in the second by winning all his service points without hitting a single double-fault.
"That 2-1 game in the second set turned the match around," Isner said as reported by ABC. "My shots found the court, I was able to break and it relaxed me a lot from there. When I'm up a break I tend to serve my best because most of the time when I get one break I can take that set home."
Isner, who is gunning for his 10th ATP title, will face fifth seed Marcos Baghdatis who beat Gilles Muller 6-7(4) 6-3 7-6(4). The 30-year-old from Cyprus needed two hours and 36 minutes to end the run of the Luxembourger who has not lost a serve prior to his semifinal match.
"I think (Muller) lost his rhythm, and I started messing up his targets," said Baghdatis who found a way to break the seventh seed's colossal serve for a place in the finals. "I think (I) will be about messing up (Isner's) game, and taking his eyes off the ball."
The meeting on Sunday will be the sixth for both players with Inser winning all the matches on hard court. However, their last three encounters needed more than two sets to end.
"Baghdatis will be different," Isner said of his opponent. "He returns very well."
Meanwhile, in the doubles draw, top seeds Mike and Bob Bryan downed Donald Young and Christopher Eubanks in straight sets to set up a final showdown against Muller and Colin Fleming.
