Jelena Jankovic ended her four-year title drought by beating Chang Kai-Chen to capture the Jiangxi Women's Tennis Open, a WTA 125K Series held in Nanchang, China. The Serb entered the finals without losing a set and continued her dominance against the 24-year-old from Taiwan winning 6-3, 7-6.

The former world no. 1 stormed through the first set and maintained her lead at 5-2 in the second but Chang won four more games to take the set into a tie-break which eventually went to Jankovic.

"I'm very happy to win this title," Jankovic said as reported by WTA. "It's my first year coming to the Jiangxi Women's Tennis Open and I am quite impressed with the organization, the hotel, the ballkids and the volunteers. I love playing in China. The people are so kind here and so helpful - they treated me like a princess! I would really like to come back next year."

The win gives Jankovic her first WTA 125K Series title and 14th career title overall. It's also a significant victory for the world no. 23 as she prepares for the hardcourts of North America including the final grand slam of the year - the US Open. "I can't say what percentage I'm playing at," Jankovic said. "But this gives me a lot of confidence for the Emirates Airline US Open Series."

Elsewhere, at the Baku Cup in Azerbaijan, Margarita Gasparyan won her first WTA title after defeating Patricia Maria Tig 3-6, 7-5, 6-0 in a final that featured WTA's two rising stars. Along the way, the unseeded Gasparyan defeated former Australian Open finalist Dominika Cibulkova and second seed Karin Knapp who reached the finals of Bad Gastein a week ago. The win is expected to improve the ranking of the 20-year-old Russian who may soon crack the Top 100 for the first time.

Gasparyan also won her doubles final match with partner Alexandra Panova after defeating Vitalia Diatchenko and Olga Savchuk 6-3, 7-5.

"It's been an amazing tournament for me," she said. "It was an amazing atmosphere in the final today. I want to thank all the people who've supported me, like my hitting partner Misha, my doubles partner Alexandra and all of the organization here. It's a very good tournament and I will always remember my week here."
