Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo walked out of a live interview with CNN Espanol's Andres Oppenheimer. The actual interview took place several weeks ago but CNN online just shared what they call the "eventful" interview last Tuesday. The FIFA World Football Player of the year appears to have gotten annoyed when the host refused to believe that he and his teammates at Real Madrid do not discuss the ongoing FIFA corruption scandal.

Oppenheimer introduced the video by saying that he had asked Ronaldo's management for an interview and that the man focus would be a new line of headphones that the sports star is promoting. He also said that both parties agreed that he would start the questioning by touching on the FIFA corruption scandal. Judging by the way Ronaldo reacted, it appears that it was a subject he didn't want to talk about.
Oppenheimer was in Miami while Ronaldo was in Las Vegas when they both sat down for the live on-cam interview. Oppenheimer led with the question: "How is the corruption scandal at FIFA affecting playing on the field of play? Is it something that worries you?"
The Real Madrid forward looked slightly amused by the question and said that if he was being honest, the scandal didn't worry him at all. He said that he was just doing his job and he is giving everything that he can for his club. What happens outside, is of no concern to him.
Oppenheimer refused to let the topic go and pursued his line of questioning. He asked about Ronaldo's teammates and how they felt about the scandal. Clearly annoyed, Ronaldo said that he can't speak for his colleagues. When the host kept pushing him, Ronaldo said that in the locker room, they speak about music, women, fashion, shoes, suitcases/bags, jewelry, and haircuts.
Things escalated quickly when Oppenheimer told his guest that he didn't believe that he and his teammates never speak about the scandal. Ronaldo clearly had enough and started snapping his fingers at someone behind the camera.
He takes off the headphones that he had around his neck and says: "Listen, this is bulls-t. I can't speak like that." Clearly exasperated, he utters a few profanities and gestures with his hands and shows that he's had too much. "They speak about FIFA. I don't care about FIFA...Qatar. I don't giva f--k...What do you want me to do? Speak about product--they speak about FIFA. Come on" he said, before walking out.
The interview was conducted in Spanish but the video contains English subtitles. The full transcript of the interview as well as the video could be seen via the CNN website.
