Boxing's only eight-division world titlist Manny Pacquiao had recently expressed his desire for a rematch with pay-per-view king Floyd Mayweather Jr. sometime next year when his recovery from a shoulder operation is complete.

In an interview with Fight News' Joe Koizumi during the World Basketball Conference in Tokyo on Thursday, the Filipino congressman disclosed his wish for another shot at the unbeaten Mayweather, who is set to face two-time welterweight champion Andre Berto at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas this September 12th.

Pacquiao said that he wanted to "fight Mayweather in a rematch" next year and he promised to "show a better performance" against the reigning pound-for-pound number one in the world. The Pac-Man even lifted and rotated his right shoulder to show Koizumi that the healing of his shoulder was well underway and faster than expected.

However, the 36-year-old ring icon did not divulge when the exact date or month of his comeback is, but according to his adviser Michael Koncz it would be around late February or early March next year.

Of course, the only possible hindrance with Pacquiao getting his wish granted is Mayweather himself, who recently insisted that his match with Berto this fall would be the last of his storied career.

Yahoo Sports reported that Money once again declared that he is retiring after winning over Berto and also said "there is nothing that could convince him to fight again."

When asked the possibility of reconsidering if a potential mega-money showdown is on the horizon, Mayweather just shrugged and said that he "had enough" and would like to spend more time with his children.

Pacquiao implied that he was not happy with the result of their "Fight of the Century" last May, saying that Mayweather was "running away all the time" and that he "was making the fight by stalking him". He also believed that he is more deserving of a win because of his aggressiveness, as per Bleacher Report.

However, all three judges saw it otherwise and that Pacquiao may have been aggressive but he was not landing clear and continuous shots the way he used to do in his previous bouts.

Money effectively countered and defended all of Pac-Man's onslaughts to fashion out a masterful 12-round unanimous decision victory where both men are not badly hurt at all.
