'Metal Gear Solid 5:The Phantom Pain' Update: New Trailer Showcases Mother Base, FOB, More [VIDEO]; Frame Rate For Console Versions Revealed!

Good new gaming fans as new updates for Konami's latest MGS title, "Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain" have been revealed regarding a new gameplay trailer and frame rates for the console versions.

VG 24/7 reports that Konami has revealed the frame rate resolutions of "Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain" for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles. Konami has also explained on their website the different technical specs in several version of the game.

"Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain" on the PS4 will have a resolution of 1080p, while the Xbox One version can only handle 900p. The Christian Post further adds that PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions of "The Phantom Pain" game will be at 720p at 30 frames-per-second and the PC version will run at 3840 x 2160 pixels at 60 frames-per-second.

Aside form the game frame rates, Konami has also posted a new gameplay trailer for "Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain" during their 2015 Gamescom presentation last week.


The gameplay video features Snake's base of operations called "Mother Base" as players can upgrade the facility to make it look better along with their equipment and weapons. Players can freely explore the whole base as each facility can plays a key role in Diamond Dogs operations such as missions and important interactions and events

Snake can also recruit soldiers in Diamond Dogs by either capturing them within enemy ranks or voluntarily doing so by acknowledging Snake's group by reputation.

Gamer's can also assign units to do different task on the field or if player does not need to do so Miller will be the one assigning missions and roles for Diamond Dogs' units. International Business Time further adds that Kaz and Ocelot can also join Snake in several missions, or let them do it for him.

By expanding Mother Base, soldiers can learn a variety of new skills to make them more efficient in combat when out in the field as well as having new weapons and gears to increase their stats.

GamingBolt further adds that online gameplay for "Metal Gear Solid 5" will allow players to build their on base of operations by using a new game feature called "Forward Operating Base" and they can do so by purchasing in the PS Plus or Xbox Live Gold.

Players can customize their FOB either online or offline gameplays and Konami hinted that the eyewear that Snake' wears within "The Phantom Pain" can be customizable, but players cannot use seperate eyewear in-game.

The website futher adds that Snake cannot swim on water, but can walk on streams and anything that his feet can touch the ground.

Konami explained that it up for the gamers strategy and ingeniuty to customize their own FOB which will include many security devices, soldiers recruited and even high powered weapons and gears, the Christian Post reports.

Lastly, Gamerant reports that "Metal Gear" creator Hideo Kojima hinted that Snake's injury in the game will be consistent as players progress in "The Phantom Pain" story.


Kojima further hints that Snake's appearance will not go back to normal after each mission saying that he will get "blood stained" as he gets injured even letting gamers change his bandana or any head gear during the game whenever its soaked in blood.

"Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain" will be release on Sept. 1, 2015 for the PS4, XBox One, PS3, Xbox 360 and for the PC.
